Parental win

A parental win looks just like a normal day.

When the baby is calmly eating her food, including the greens. Happily enjoying it while watching a show ... That she earlier rejected ... vehemently.

That sent her to tantrums. With full blown baby rage, crying, kicking, and tears.

The tantrums unnerved the Dad, and sent the situation to full chaos.

The chaos was loud, stressful, filled with rage, tears and fear.

The parental win was quiet. Uncelebrated as everyone just goes on, as if there was no war just erupted.

In non celebratory manner the "winning" parent must also continue to function normally. Despite the stressful pressure that just passed, the utmost patience and restraints just exercised, the misdirected anger, kicking, and protest just endured. The hours passed with:

- reciting prayers,

- checking the parenting book for more ideas,

- hundreds of distractions tried to no avail,

- breathing exercises to keep the calm and to not join the tantrum too,

- swinging the baby in various speed and direction to every possible change of scenery,

went unnoticed.

So, here's for all the parents that have successfully subdued their little one's tantrum while remaining calm! You did it! You're the winner! I see you! And you deserve all the applause, cheers, and confetti in the world! You're the winner!
